Fairmount Mortuary opened  January 1st of 1965. Our  decision to open a funeral home was based on the concept of providing families with everything they need for funeral service in one easy location.  Today our staff services over 800 families a year.

Our current main administration building opened at the same time. The  building services as the main administration offices  for Fairmount. It contains the "Fairmount Mortuary Chapel, one of our four chapels for families. It also houses our cemetery office and accounting department. It is the 'hub" of much that we do for our families .

Fairmount cemetery was founded in 1890, It is Denver's second oldest cemetery and, as such is the final resting place of many of Colorado's most prominent Pioneers--men and women like William Newton Byers, John Wesley Iliff, Florence Rena Sabin, Henry Moore Teller, W.A.H Loveland and David H. Moffat.

Designed by German landscape architect, Reinhard Schuetze, the layout incorporates sweeping vistas in broad curved lanes thus creating a beautiful and serene park like setting.BaileyGate1938BW

Construction on the Fairmount Community Mausoleum began in 1929. Numerous Colorado men were  put to work on its construction during the great depression. The cost of the first phase of the building was One million dollars. The front of the building has Greek Doric columns . It is constructed of concrete , marble and reinforced steel. Since there there have been numerous additions to the building. The building contains private family rooms, various types of crypts, and both marble and glass front niches for cremations. As one walks thru the building you will see one of the largest collection of stain glass windows in the city. The mausoleum also has a chapel for use by our families. The building is a Denver landmark.
